02/08/2019 

"I saw Mr Boyce in March 2019 to discuss breast augmentation. At the appointment I discussed what I would like my breast to look like . Prior to the surgery I was 36 b . I am 56 years of age and all my life I wanted  “ boobs “ . I have always felt self conscious of my small breasts and have bought the  “up lift bras “ the Stick on bras” the “ chicken fillets “ that you shove inside your bras...I will say these did work to a degree but at the end of the day you have to take your bra off and there in front of the mirror stood the less than adequate woman . I always felt that my breasts were not in proportion to my body. Any how , I told Mr Boyce that I would like natural looking breasts but as big as he thought was necessary. We agreed on 350 with the possibility of going a little bit bigger. My surgery was scheduled for 6 weeks later with the promise from myself to give up smoking.  A week before the operation I went for booking in. You have weight, height and bloods taken also an e.c.g. None of which hurts. I had my operation on the 16 th of April 2019 at the spire hospital Cardiff.
     The day of the operation you have to book in at 7 am..( there is a premiere inn literally a few minutes away) nothing to eat from  midnight so that was great as I went with friends for a meal to celebrate the new boobs I was getting. The staff at the spire were pleasant and informative.i was taken to a single room . I met the anaesthetist and  before long was taken to surgery. When I awoke I was back on the ward and very soon was eating and drinking . I had a drip and two drains in situ following surgery, I know the importance of mobilising following surgery and with in a few hours was able to go to the bathroom unaided..I did not have any pain..
 The following day the nurse removed the drip and drains....I was dreading that to be honest , but I promise it did not hurt... I was discharged home once my medication was available. 
 I cannot praise the staff of the spire hospital enough they All were fantastic.
     For 3 days following surgery I did not have any pain . I had strapping across my new breasts , the strapping has to stay in situ for two weeks following surgery, you cannot shower or bath , just a strip wash until the strapping is removed.
After the 3 rd day I did have moderate pain which lasted about two weeks but this was relieved by over the counter analgesia. 
  After two weeks the strapping is removed in outpatient clinic....I knew I had boobs immediately following surgery ,but I could now finally see my new boobs , they were everything I wanted. My new boobs where quite high to begin with , but 3 months on they are where they should be in a natural position.
 It is important to wear a good post surgical bra and to sleep on your back for the first few weeks I wore my bra 24/7 for the first 3 months, my incision scar was very red and lumpy at first , but 3 months on I can hardly see it and my skin is smooth around the scar. when I bathed I would add salt I think this helped. I used bio oil and Imassage my breasts for 30 mins after coming out of the bath..
 I am now the proud owner of 36dd boobs...and I love them...they have been worth every penny ... they look so natural and I can now wear anything...my body now looks in proportion...
One thing to note is that my nipples were completely numb for first two months following surgery but I am now starting to get feeling back , they still feel sore at the moment but this is normal and it can take up to a year for everything to be back to normal , but hey I have feeling at least and the do react to cold and touch so they are improving.
   On my discharge appointment I told  Mr Boyce that  “ god himself couldn’t have given me better breasts” and I meant every word...I would Highly recommend Mr Boyce as a surgeon . I believe he really is the best...I could not have asked for anything else.

02/02/2014 I have recently undergone breast reduction surgery at the Spire Hospital, Cardiff and would like to offer thanks and appreciation to my Consultant Mr Dean Boyce and the nursing staff for the amazing care and professionalism I received. 

I had been considering breast reduction for many years, and after my first consultation with Mr Boyce, I felt totally relaxed and confident about the procedure.

I'm extremely delighted with the results, after years of back pain and trying to disguise my figure with ill fitting clothes. This has been such a positive experience for me and would highly recommend Mr Boyce's expertise. J.M.H.

02/12/2013 I underwent breast enlargement and an abdominoplasty at the Spire hospital Cardiff, under the consultant Mr Dean Boyce. I was extremely impressed with the facilities, and my aftercare was second to none.
Mr Boyce is a very skilled surgeon and I was more than pleased with the final results of my surgery. I would, and have recommended both the Spire and Mr Boyce to anyone considering any procedures. A.V.
 

12/07/2013 Just a short email to say thank you for everything you did for me! I am thrilled with the results and although I see myself every day, after seeing the "after" photo's last night it only confirms what an amazing job you did! 
 
The Nursing Staff at Spire Cardiff Hospital were excellent, very caring, checking on me all the time and nothing was too much trouble. I was also very happy for my after op care - again, nothing was too much trouble for her and she always put my mind at ease whenever I had a question or concern over my recovery.
 
 I can't thank you enough as I now feel so much more confident about my tummy and I am really looking forward to my summer holiday with a lot more confidence. I have gone from avoiding the mirror to constantly looking in it to see my lovely flat tummy.

2011. "I had lost a considerable amount of weight, but the unfortunate side effect of this was that I had become increasingly embarrassed and unhappy with the shape of my breasts and upper arms.  After much thought and research I made an appointment with Mr Boyce to discuss the options available to me. In all honesty I can say that within five minutes of meeting him I felt comfortable and at ease, and was able to explain in my own time how I felt and what I hoped he could do to help. After an initial examination (during which a nurse was present) he suggested a breast uplift (mastopexy) and an arm lift (brachioplasty). At this point I was shown a wide selection of before and after photographs which provided a realistic idea of what the end results might be. Despite the fact prior to the appointment I had done quite a lot of research Mr Boyce suggested I look at a number of websites and was at pains to manage my expectations and  point out all the things that could go wrong both during and after surgery. On leaving the consultation I felt happy and confident that I had chosen the right surgeon.  On the day of my operation Mr Boyce came to my room, re-examined me (again with a nurse present) and once again explained what he planned to do and made sure I had no further questions that I was happy to proceed. The operation went very well and Mr Boyce visited me the same evening and twice the following day to make sure I was recovering well. The aftercare I received was truly amazing !. For several weeks I returned to the hospital for appointments with the nurse and on each and every occasion Mr Boyce popped in to check for himself that I was healing well and that I had no concerns or questions.." 2011. Had been considering a breast reduction for many years before I approached the Vale Hospital last year. I opted to attend the open evening and this gave me the chance to see the facility and meet some of the staff. I was impressed with the hospital as it was new with up to date equipment and the staff were welcoming and informative. The consultants presentations were useful as I gained a good idea of what would happen should I decide to go ahead with an operation. I also did some research of my own into the breast reduction procedure, the hospital and the consultants. My GP surgery recommende the Vale. I chose to see Mr Dean Boyce and was not disappointed. On each occasion I saw him I found him to be honest, thorough and very professional. Being a mature woman(60+) I had a few medical problems that needed to be considered. Mr Boyce ensured it was safe for me to have an anaesthetic before agreeing to operate. I also had a consultation with Dr Hunt, anaesthetist who put my mind at rest. During my short stay at The Vale in December 2012 all the staff from receptionists, theatre staff to nursing staff were friendly yet professional. I felt safe in their care. Mr Boyce saw me just before surgery, in the evening after surgery to check my wounds and again the next day before discharge. At discharge I was given advice and information about what I should and should not do and contact numbers for further advice. I saw Mr Boyce a further three times for examination of the wounds before final discharge and the outpatient nurses for wound care in between. I felt well cared for at all times. I was careful to follow all wound care advice given to me and as a result my wounds healed well and I have had no unpleasant/unwanted side effects from the surgery. To say I am pleased with the results of my operation is an understatement. The shoulder, back and neck pain I used to suffer has reduced considerably. My posture has improved. My clothes look much better on me and I can now wear the pretty tops and T-shirts I admired on other people.  I no longer feel like an "Old Matron" - I feel like a new woman! I would recommend the Vale Hospital and Mr Dean Boyce to anyone considering  breast reduction surgery. PP (28/02/2013)
